It's more singing than talking and more involuntary jerking than dancing - but the Talking Heads Once In A Lifetime remains one of the most innovative songs of the 80s. Each member of the band was asked to record a different rhythmic idea onto tape (oblivious to what the other members were doing) and producer Brian Eno mixed all of these ideas into the final version of the song - which explains the unconventional timing of Once In A Lifetime. David Byrne acts as a puppet would in the music video - choreographed by Toni Basil after she showed him footage of epilepsy sufferers. Once In A Lifetime came from their fourth studio album Remain In Light.
