RUBY SLIPPERZ has been in the Entertainment Industry for almost 35 years... she will tell you quick as a flash 'I started out as a child'. When it comes to performance Ruby can place a tick next to Theatre, Children's Entertainment, Comedy, Speaker, Recording, Television and Radio.
When asked what job she loves the most her answer is always 'When you love what you do, you never work another day in your life'. Ruby has received many accolades for her work but when asked what is her most precious success her answer straight up is her two children, Harry and Maddy. Let’s not forget The Sherriff, their teenage romance is now in its 31st year.
In 2004 she decided she wanted to do more in the community, to not just be a voice on the radio but to be a voice for the people. Ruby was elected to Toowoomba City Council and was given the portfolio of Tourism and Events as well as responsibilities with Corporate Communications. Ruby served a four year term on Council and in 2009 she was approached by River 949 to co host their new breakfast show... and the rest, as they say, is history!
