| Redbank Plains Mans Faces Drug Charges |

A 24-year-old Redbank Plains man has been charged with firearm and drug offences after being involved in a traffic crash on the Pacific Motorway near Helensvale yesterday. Police attended the Motorway after a vehicle struck a guard rail around 11.30am when it is was allegedly reported a man was putting items into a backpack prior to getting into the ambulance. A subsequent search of the man’s belongings and car allegedly located a home made handgun, a large round of ammunition, three knives, a quantity of amphetamines and cash. The man was charged with unlawful possession of weapons, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of anything for use in the commission of a crime, and possession of property suspected of being stolen. He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today. |
