Police want to identify a man allegedly linked to Springfield robberies

Detectives from the Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing to the public to help identify a man following two robberies in Springfield last year and the beginning of this year.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 11.50pm, on December 31, 2023, an unknown man entered a business on Woodcrest Way.

The man threatened a staff member with a knife and demanded money.

The worker complied and was not physically injured during the incident.

The man left the scene towards Woodcrest Way and Commercial Drive.

On February 2, 2024, the same man entered a Springfield Parkway business at approximately 8.30pm.

The man threatened staff with a large wrench and demanded money before assaulting one of the attendants.

The man left the scene towards Springfield Parkway.

The male is described as tanned in appearance, 6 foot tall with a solid build, short black hair and a patchy black moustache.

He was wearing a grey or navy blue “Blues” football jumper with a NSW Blues logo on the front, black long pants, and black sports shoes.

Investigators have released images of the man who may be able to assist with enquiries and are appealing to the man, or anyone who may be able to identify him, to come forward.
