Police are appealing for public information following reports of shots being fired at a house on Ripley Road, Ripley, around 1.25pm on Monday, December 2.
Initial investigations indicate two unknown offenders arrived at the residence in a white Mitsubishi Magna and a blue motorbike, shortly before shots were allegedly fired.
A 71-year-old man was injured during an altercation and later taken to hospital with a suspected fractured arm.
Police took a man in his 20s, the driver of the Magna, into custody at a Bundamba property this afternoon.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage within the vicinity of Ripley Road from 1pm today, December 2, to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
