A man is fighting for life in hospital following a serious crash in the Scenic Rim.
Emergency services were called to the scene when a truck and a vehicle collided on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Cryna near Beaudesert at around 5am this morning.
Queensland Ambulance says the man sustained life threatening head and chest injuries.
He was airlifted by the Rescue Helicopter to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
A second man was also injured and taken stable to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Police say that the northbound lanes on the Mount Lindesay Highway near Markwell Creek Road are closed due to the traffic crash.
Diversions are in place at Josephville Road but it is not suitable for high vehicles due to a low interstate railway bridge.
Trucks and other heavy vehicles need through the detour at Boonah instead.
The closure is expected to be in place for FOUR hours.
