A scary ordeal for a Western Darling Downs woman who was bitten by one of the world’s deadliest snakes while asleep in her bed.
It happened at a Glenmorgan property at just before 1 this morning.
The woman, aged in her 20s, was bitten on the hand by what is believed to be an eastern brown snake.
It’s understood the woman’s family applied bandages to the snake bite before paramedics arrived.
The Toowoomba based RACQ Lifeflight Rescue Helicopter was also tasked to the scene where the aeromedical team administered anti-venom.
The woman was then flown to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
She remains in a stable condition.
Eastern brown snakes are considered the second most venomous in the world.
