A 40-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, after allegedly assaulting a woman in Boronia Heights.
Police were called to a property on Short Street at around 11.40pm on Saturday (December 14), following reports a woman had been stabbed.
Authorities say they upon their arrival they found the 70-year-old resident of the home with life threatening injuries.

She was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious neck, face and chest injuries.
A 40-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene and has since been charged with a string of offences including attempted murder.
He’s set to face court today (December 17).
