A Boronia Heights man has died in hospital two weeks after he was allegedly deliberately hit by a vehicle at Withcott.

Police say the 33-year-old was driving his Nissan sedan along Toowoomba Connection Road when a crash occurred between two vehicles, shortly after 3pm on Sunday, November 20.

It’s alleged a ute deliberately hit the Nissan Sedan, causing it to leave the road and crash.

The man then got out of his vehicle and stood beside the car, when police say the ute was driven at the man, striking him, before fleeing the scene.

The 33-year-old suffered serious head injuries and was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment where he died on Saturday, December 3.

A 46-year-old man was charged a day after the initial incident, with one count of attempt to murder, two counts of endangering the safety of a person in a vehicle with intent, and one count of dangerous operation of motor vehicle.

Police are now considering the most appropriate course of action following the man’s death.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses to the crash, as well as information regarding a missing Holden Rodeo ute.
