A 28-year-old man has been taken into custody following a vehicle intercept at Springfield yesterday, February 24.
At approximately 10am, Ipswich police attending an unrelated traffic incident on the Centenary Highway at Springfield intercepted a vehicle in relation to unrelated bail offences.
The occupant of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man, attempted to run from the vehicle.
He was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit and taken into custody.
A replica firearm (gel blaster) was located in the vehicle.
It will be alleged the man resisted arrest during the incident, he has been transported to hospital for treatment.
An officer has also been transported to hospital for assessment, he was not physically injured.
Investigations are ongoing.
