The Somerset and Southern Downs Regional Councils will share in $215,000, to create flood resilience in the future.
The money is a part of funding from the Queensland Disaster Resilience Fund, and will go towards two key projects.
Burton's Bridge over the Brisbane River will be strengthened, as well as upgrades to the Southern Downs fire trails.
The Minister for State Development, Cameron Dick says by increasing our state's disaster resilience, we're improving public safety, as well as protecting the community from damage, and reducing further restoration costs.
