A chilli start for the local region overnight.
The mercury dropped to its coldest morning this year to -3.2 in Ipswich while Wellcamp Airport saw -3.1 and Dalby shivered through the state's lowest temperature at -4.8 degrees.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Kimba Wong says the chilli conditions are due to cold dry air pushing through from the south:
"That cold dry air is making its way all the way to the coast.
So, areas that normally won't feel as cold, due to a little bit of moisure sticking around the coastal parts have certainly felt those cold conditions this morning.
