Paul Pisasale’s (pictured above) extortion trial is nearing an end, with closing arguments now underway in the Brisbane District Court.
The former Ipswich mayor has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Prosecutors claim he posed as a private investigator in one of a series of phone calls to a man, who was the former partner of a Singaporean woman he had just met.
That woman - Yutian Li - and Ipswich solicitor Cameron McKenzie are also standing trial alongside Pisasale, and are maintaining their innocence.
