Cold southerlies sweep through Ipswich and Toowoomba

We've seen frosts in Ipswich, Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba this morning.
Ipswich and Gatton got down to around 1.5 degrees while Wellcamp saw -1.1 and Kingaroy a chilli -2.3 this morning.
Adam Blazak from the Weather Bureau says the cold conditions are coming from the south:
"We did see the high pressure system over Western Australia combining with a low in the Tasman Sea pushing a lot of cold air over those southern states and that continued on up into Queensland.
That high pressure is now going to more quite quickly into the Tasman Sea over the next couple of days.
The winds will start to come in from the east and that will be increasing humidity and minimum temperatures as well".
