Complaints & the clean-up bill rise over Ipswich's illegal dumping.

The council worker clean-up of illegal dumping in suburbs across Ipswich has slugged ratepayers with a bill of almost $60,000.

More than $10,000 was spent on the removal and disposal of illegally dumped tyres, while close to $7,000 was needed to remove and get rid of dumped Asbestos.

So far this year, Ipswich City Council has received 1,650 illegal dumping and littering related complaints, with bushland in Bundamba, Riverview and Swanbank all named as local dumping hotspots.
