Lockyer Valley Mayor Tanya Milligan had a close call during yesterday's bushfires which tore through the region.
The councillor says that she returned from the Emergency Disaster Centre at Mt.Sylvia to find her street and home in the line of fire.
She told River 949's Marnie and Campo this morning that she's had a rough night.
"I slept in my swag in the office of the council last night.
Look the dog and my two birds are at the house, I've got a bit of smoke damage to clean up there but the reality of the whole event we did lose one house and a vehicle".
