The Rural Fire Service's Alan Gillespie says there's two very large bushfires in the Lockyer Valley and the Scenic Rim, which are still a really big threat.
Temperatures skyrocketed to 41 degrees in Laidley, Gatton and Amberley yesterday...with one property lost in the town of Laidley.
One hundred and twenty evacuated residents allowed home overnight.
Superintendent Gillespie told River 949's Marnie and Campo this morning that it is important for people to remain vigilant:
"We have downgraded the emergency alert 'Watch and Act' to 'Advice' levels today so our weather conditons have eased but people can't be compacent.
We still have two very large and uncontrolled fires burning in the Lockyer Valley and the Scenic Rim council areas -- and that's going to take several days to bring those within containment if we can".
