Local fire crews have been strengthening containment lines around bushfires near Kilcoy and Lower Beechmont today.
Residents at Villeneuve and Glenfern in the Somerset region are being advised to 'Stay Informed' and put their bushfire survival plan into action if the situation changes.
While fires in the Gold Coast Hinterland, according to the Rural Fire Service's Alan Gillespie, have been keeping crews busy.
"The fire at Lower Beechmont, we've been working very closely with the Department of Defence in relation to that and we've been using some of their facilities for waterbombing.
We've been waterbombing that again today and watching that very closely.
We do have a number of other fires that are burning out near Nerang and Mount Mistake in the Scenic Rim and we've watching them carefully as well.
In fact crews will be backburning tonight to secure those fires".
A total fire ban remains in place until Saturday for the Ipswich, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Logan and Gold Coast areas.
