The owner of a Curtis Falls Cafe has described the moment a wall of water inundated his shop yesterday.
Streets around Mount Tamborine turned into a raging torrent after more than 100 mm of rain fell in the region.
Mark Andrew told River 949's Marnie and Campo this morning the water rose up out of the creek quickly:
"I looked across the road from where the water feeds was lifting up fairly fast and quick and we had to really start putting all the talbes and chairs away.
Look we saved all the tables and chairs, the water went up through the restaurant and cafe there and lots of mud and stuff.. and there's a bit of clean up today to do".
