All swimming pools within the Ipswich City Council area will be closed from 5 this afternoon due to the coronavirus crisis.
Goodna, Bundamba, Leichhardt and Rosewood pools will be shut to the public as well as Orion Lagoon, Riverheart Parkland water play area and the privately owned Robelle Splash.
It's understood the Ipswich Nature Centre will also close.
Ipswich Council's CEO David Farmer has today expressed his disappointment by the decision ahead of the April school holidays.
Today's announcement follows bans by the state and federal governments on mass gathering in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
