A Scenic Rim horticultural company hopes to begin construction on a new $50-million manufacturing precinct within three months, pending approvals for the project.
Kalfresh Vegetables is planning to build new facilities at Kalbar, to obtain produce from regions like the Granite Belt and the Darling Downs, and turn it into pre-packaged meals.
The Coordinator General is now seeking feedback on the project, which also includes plans to build a bio-gas plant.
Kalfresh Managing Director Richard Gorman hopes it will attract more producers to the site.
The development is expected to create hundreds of jobs, once it's complete.
