It's been revealed more than 6000 people accessed a Queensland Superannuation fund early, when the COVID-19 shutdowns began in March.

LGIAsuper CEO Kate Farrar said they had a significant spike in calls at the height of the crisis, from concerned members in Logan and Toowoomba.

LGIAsuper currently has approximately 4,800 members in the Logan and Toowoomba region, including Logan City Council, Toowoomba Regional Council and other local organisations.

Ms Farrer said allowing vulnerable people to access the fund was an important measure by the government.
