A wet winters weekend on the way

We are set to cop heavy rainfall across the weekend due to a weather system moving through the South East.

The Weather Bureau said falls could be in the double digits with up 60 millimetres expected in areas of Ipswich and Toowoomba.

Forecaster Rosa Hoff said inland parts may also get rain.

"We could see five to 10mm through the Maranoa and Warrego districts, 10 to 15 millimetres potentially in parts of the Darling Downs and up to 20 millimetres of falls over 24 hours around the South East coast as a trough tracks towards the East", she said.
