Ipswich and surrounding areas are covered in heavy fog this morning making the commute to work a little more hazardous.
Forecaster James Thompson from the Weather Bureau says the fog started to come through in the Ipswich area at just after midnight.
" It's largely due to a little bit of humidity hovering with those warmer ocean temperatures after Summer months as well as a combination of clear skies and a relatively clear morning" he says.
Mr Thompson says fog is likely to stay around for a while yet but is expected to burn off once the sun gets up.The fog is currently affecting Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Brisbane Valley and Toowoomba areas this morning.
