Heavy rain and hail are battering Brisbane and Ipswich as severe thunderstorms sweep through.
Gaint hail has been reported in Esk in the Somerset region.
The Bureau of Meteorology is warning of damaging winds and intense rain which may lead to flash flooding.
Very dangerous thunderstorms are forecast to affect Somerset Dam, Toogoolawah, Lake Somerset, Kilcoy, and Mount Mee.
A severe weather warning is also in place for the Wide Bay and Burnett, Gympie, Central Highlands, Moreton Bay, somerset and Sunshine Coast areas.
It comes after storms packed a punch and hit the Darling Downs and Lockyer Valley overnight and early this morning, when hail around 4cm in size fell.
People are being told to move their car under cover, secure loose outdoor items, be aware of fallen trees and powerlines, and not drive through flooded waters.
