The Toowoomba community is rallying behind a horsemanship business owner who lost all of her equipment and hay in a shed fire at Highfields.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Alex Hindle who is now trying to pick up the pieces after the fire destroyed thousands of dollars worth of stock and horse food last Friday.

Dozens of saddles, including two worth more than $7000 each, have been lost.

Hindle Horsemanship has only been open for three months, so to lose everything in the blaze has come as a massive blow for Ms Hindle.

“We hold a lot of weekly lessons and unfortunately due to loss of equipment, it is with a heavy heart that for now, business will be at a standstill.

“While we try to get back on our feet and recover from this, we would greatly appreciate any support or donations,” Ms Hindle says.

The fire started in the hay shed but quickly spread to nearby buildings, where furniture, tack and other horse equipment was stored.

“I’ve just got to keep going and not let it get me down too much,” Ms Hindle says.

So far just over $1600 has been raised on the page.
