Ipswich detectives arrest 16-year-old accused of crime spree


A 16-year-old boy has been denied bail following an alleged crime spree which involved breaking into houses, stealing cars and committing fraud across Ipswich, Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast.

Ipswich detectives have arrested the teenager on a whopping 40 charges relating to incidents that occurred during September 22 and October 14.

Police allege the boy burgled houses, broke into businesses, stole cars, damaged property and committed fraud in Redbank Plains, Collingwood Park, Flagstone, Mount Warren Park, Beaudesert, Corinda, Oxley, Everton Park, St Lucia and Greenbank.

He was apprehended in Logan on October 15 and charged with 15 counts of break and enter, three burglaries, five counts of unlicensed driving, 10 wilful damage offences, three tainted property charges and two counts each of fraud and learner driving unaccompanied.

He has been denied bail to reappear in Beenleigh Children’s Court.
