The Baillie Henderson Hospital COVID-19 testing site will close at 4pm today to allow for important upgrades to improve traffic flow and increase the clinic’s capacity.

The temporary testing site at the Toowoomba Showgrounds will reopen tomorrow Friday, January 7 until Sunday, January 9.

The site will operate from 8.30am to 4pm over the three days.

This morning, there is a 3.5-hour wait at Baillie Henderson Hospital drive-in testing site.

If you're visiting any of the testing locations it's recommended you bring a bottle of water, snacks, your phone charger, and any medication you may need.

Darling Downs Hospital and Health COVID-19 response lead Michelle Forrest said the works to the Baillie Henderson Hospital testing site would include the introduction of a third lane for testing, as well as improvements to how traffic will flow through the site.

“The site, which has been operational for over a year, also requires maintenance to improve the staff buildings.

“I would like to thank our testing teams for their hard work and flexibility in this unprecedented time. I would also like to say a big thank you to our communities for their support while we improve how we provide care at our testing site.”
