Friends rally behind Somerset family after horrific crash

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help the family of a Somerset man tragically killed in a crash northwest of Brisbane.

Fifty-one-year-old Daniel Hall, from Glamorgan Vale, lost his life when his landcruiser collided head-on with a ute on the D'Aguilar Highway last Friday.

The Glamorgan Vale man was driving the Landcruiser with his wife, 49-year-old Linda Hall and their 13-year-old son Steele when it collided with another car about 10.20am near Stony Creek.

Mrs Hall remains in hospital. Their teenage son, Steele, 13, was also injured and taken to hospital.

Rhiannon Burke, a family friend, who works with Mrs Hall at Ipswich's Bundaleer Lodge Nursing Home says everyone at her workplace feels a desperate desire to help.

“If anyone knows Linda, they know her caring personality,” Ms Burke says.

“She’s got amazing strong connections with our residents and their families.

“Everyone is super concerned and supportive.”

Ms Burke says Linda has a long journey ahead of her with surgeries and physiotherapy.

The money raised will go towards funeral costs and mortgage payments so Mrs Hall can focus on her recovery.

Ms Burke says it is likely Linda will not be able to work for some time.

More than $7000 has been raised so far.
