A man has died and two other people remain in hospital after an off-road buggy rolled and caught on fire, south of Toowoomba.

Police are investigating the fatal single-vehicle crash, which happened on private property at Leyburn.

Emergency services were called to the property just before 5:30pm yesterday following reports an off-road racing truck had crashed.

Early investigations suggest the truck rolled while negotiating a corner and caught alight.

The female teen driver escaped the vehicle, while her 41-year-old male co-pilot died at the scene despite the best efforts of bystanders to render first aid.

Queensland Ambulance Service said the driver was taken to Toowoomba Hospital with serious injuries with burns to her arms and spinal and pelvic precautions. She is in a stable condition.

A male in his 40s was taken by road to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition with minor burns to his face.

Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
