Pilot killed in plane crash near Toowoomba

A man has died after the plane he was flying crashed at Bowenville.

Police are investigating the crash of a light aircraft with initial investigations indicating the aircraft crashed onto the powerlines on Malu Road just before 2.30pm yesterday.

The pilot, a man aged in his 60s, was declared dead at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit, working alongside Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), and Recreational Aviation Australia (RAA) will prepare a report for the coroner.
