EBA DISAGREEMENT: Union says Somerset Council has cut women's pay

The Services Union has described the Somerset Council Mayor's comments over the enterprise bargaining agreement as 'rubbish'.
It comes after Mayor Graham Lehmann claimed that the council's white collar workforce were being railroaded by the union after they failed to sign off on 2.5 percent pay-rise.
The Union's Neil Hendensen says that the Mayor failed to mention that they had cut the pay rate of female workers.
"They cut the pay rate for the bottom three grades of the salary scale and 85 percent of those are women.
The consequence of that being is that 10 out of 12 they've employed since then are women.
So, defensively the Somerset Regional Council is doing its bit to make sure the gender pay gap doesn't improve".
