BREAKING NEWS: Queensland political corruption laws pass

The reforms aimed at stamping out corruption in councils have today passed Parliament.
The legislation includes a ban on property developer donations as well as enable Local Government Minister Stirling Hinchliffe (above) with the ability to sack or suspend councils, councillors and mayors charged by the Corruption watchdog.
Earlier today, the Courier Mail reported that six Ipswich councillors could be suspended once the laws were passed despite a 21 day show cause notice being given to Ipswich Council over a week ago.
