Logan's populous boom prompts plans for a new sewage plant.

Logan City Council is looking for an 80 hectare Logan River-side location to build the city’s newest sewage treatment plant, after revealing the city’s sewers are reaching capacity - and will be at breaking point in the next four years.

A letter sent to Park Ridge and Yarrabilba households said the new sewage treatment plant is needed, to keep pace with population growth.

Council water committee chairman, Phil Pidgeon told The Courier Mail...Council is working to ensure the land will not have to be compulsorily acquired.

Ratepayers will own the plant, which will be jointly paid for by Council and the State Government.
