Radioactive device stolen from Bundamba ute

Police have issued a warning to the public after a radioactive device was stolen in Ipswich.


The portable density moisture gauge, which was locked in a bright green transport case, was stolen from a ute on Byrne Street at Bundamba on Tuesday.


Police say it poses a serious health risk to people if mishandled.


Detectives are investigating and are urging anyone who locates the item not to move it, but to call triple zero immediately.
