A local M.P defies her party in defence of sacred Deebing Creek site.

Labor M.P Jo-Ann Miller has broken ranks with her party, and has called on State Government to investigate the purchase of a sacred parcel of Indigenous land at Deebing Creek.

Bundamba's Member has lent her support to the protesters' fight, to stop homes being built near the old mission, the creek and an Aboriginal cemetery.

Ms.Miller questioned the legalities about how the site was turned into freehold land, and told The Q.T - it should go back into Indigenous hands...adding "building on burials" is not something anybody wants to see.
