Reforms to the blue card system in Queensland could pass parliament as soon as today.
The Liberal National Party says it will support the Labor government's proposed changes, but is critical of how long they will take:
"No card, no starts is finally being talked about.
I think the Attorney-General said in her contribution that the implemtation would be in early 2020.
We know the Labor government record on implementing IT projects -- so lets see how that stacks up in early 2020".

Under the laws, a wider range of crimes will disqualify people from ever working with children, including child kidnapping and stealing, and abduction of a child under 16.
