Lockyer Valley Mayor Tania Milligan is encouraging us to get behind a new community program to help out the drought declared region.
It is part of a Federal Government $1 million relief effort for land owners.
Ms Milligan says after the 2011 floods invasive weeds have started plaguing farmers who back onto creek catchments.
"And there's also been opportunities to upskill our own community members and give them training".
The Mayor is also reminding residents to shop local and support local producers.
