Somerset rates bills are set to increase after the region's Mayor Graeme Lehmann handed down the council's $48.2 million Budget today.
General Rates will go up by 67 cents a week or an average of $34 to the annual bill... while farms and small businesses will see a rate increase of 2.5 percent.
Mayor Lehmann says the rise will ensure that council can provide the services that the community expects:
"While meeting our financial sustainability targets, our vision for rates and affected services, I think it was a very modest rate rise and something we need to carry out our services.
Revenue from 2019/20 Budget will be poured into projects like the upgrade of Gregors Creek Road and the Kilcoy Racecourse Development.
